Overview

Shahzad Textile Mills is one of the largest textile companies in Pakistan. It was also one of the earliest businesses to put its operations on Wizmen, at a time when our textile system was still being shaped by the mills that used it. Much of what Wizmen knows about running a large mill — the volumes, the departments, the controls a business of that size needs — was learned alongside Shahzad. It remains one of the largest Wizmen implementations to date.

01The challenge

Scale that a generic ERP was never built for

A textile company of this size runs many departments, high volumes and tight margins at once. It needed a system built for the industry, not adapted to it.

  • 01

Procurement, production, costing and sales had to work as one system across a very large operation.

  • 02

Raw material arrives in large volumes with varying weight and quality, and each lot has to be valued correctly.

  • 03

Production had to be planned and recorded against targets, with costing reaching down to each product.

  • 04

Finance needed the same numbers as the mill floor, posted into one ledger.

02Our approach

Built alongside the mill

As one of our earliest implementations, the deployment was shaped closely around the way Shahzad works — and much of it became the standard for the mills that followed.

  1. 01

    Mapped to the business

Each department’s process was modelled as it actually runs, so the system recorded work the way the mill already did it.

  2. 02

    Procurement to production

Raw material receipt, weighing and valuation were connected to production planning, so every lot could be followed onto the floor.

  3. 03

    Costing that reflects the floor

Material, conversion and overhead were drawn into product costing, with variances against standard visible to management.

  4. 04

    Growing with the company

As the business grew, the system grew with it — adding volume, departments and controls without being replaced.

Textile
  • One of our largest

A very large textile operation runs procurement, production, costing and finance on one connected system.

  • One of our earliest

Among the first businesses on Wizmen, Shahzad has stayed with the system as it and the company have grown.

  • A standard for the industry

Much of what was built for Shahzad became part of the textile system that other mills now run on.

  • One ledger, end to end

Procurement, production and sales post into the same accounts, so the mill and the finance team never reconcile two versions.
