Overview
Healthcare is Wizmen’s newest frontier, and Saleem Memorial Trust Hospital is where we began it. A trust hospital carries a double responsibility: to its patients, and to the donors and trustees whose funds sustain it. Every bill, every dispensed medicine and every salary has to be recorded with the same rigour — and reported transparently. In 2020 the hospital chose Wizmen to bring that rigour to its finances.
01The challenge
A hospital never closes, and its finances never stop moving. The system had to capture every charge as it happened, without slowing down care.
Patient charges from consultations, procedures, admissions and the pharmacy had to reach one bill without manual collation.
The pharmacy needed stock control by item and batch, with dispensing deducted from inventory as it happened.
Doctors, nurses and staff on varied shifts and terms had to be paid accurately through one payroll.
As a trust, the hospital needed transparent reporting on income, spending and budgets for its management and trustees.
02Our approach
We designed the system around the patient’s journey through the hospital, so every service rendered becomes a charge, and every charge reaches the ledger.
Patient registration and appointment scheduling were set up as the starting point for every visit and every bill.
Charges from each department flow into a single patient bill, with receipting, panel accounts and receivables tracked centrally.
Pharmacy and inventory management hold medicines and consumables by item, with purchases and payables linked to suppliers.
Payroll and HR, fixed assets, budgeting and the general ledger complete the picture for management and trustees.
